The good was excellent. I wasn’t sure what to expect, some Korean food can be a little different. But this was really good. The pork dumplings were amazing. The egg drop soup was really good too. I would highly recommend.

Entering Gogi Yaki you can see the restaurant is clean and modern. Ordering is at the counter. The menu offers Chinese are well as Korean dishes. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were had lunch and I opted for The Hunan Chicken lunch special. My friend had Chicken fried Rice and we also had the Shrimp tempura appetizer. The shrimp was crispy and tasty. The Egg drop soup was ... Egg drop soup. Not too thin and not too thick. Portions were Generous especially for a lunch portion. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the food. I was halfway through before I thought to take a photo.. The Hunan Chicken was really good. It had some spice and was very tasty. We will return.

I went to Gogi Yaki yesterday and haven't been able to stop thinking about how wonderful it is. I went there by myself to celebrate the end of my first semester at Del Mar. I splurged quite a bit and had myself a feast. Cost me $41 (15% of which was my tip). When I tell you that feast was worth every penny, I mean it. There was not a single thing that wasn't fantastic. It was all very very tasty and fresh. All of the foods were new to me, and I loved them all. The staff were all extremely extremely kind, welcoming, and helpful. Their service was delightful and they were all lovely to talk to while ordering. I will be coming back for sure. Maybe not to feast like that because money doesn't grow on trees (haha) but definitely will have a meal or some more of their yummy bubble tea. If you get the opportunity to eat at Gogi Yaki, I hiiiighly recommend you at least give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Don’t go for the food go just for the customer service! Eric went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant time at this restaurant. He goes to each table to make sure everything is up to par. The orange chicken is the perfect sweetness and a bit of crunch and the spicy chicken bulgogi bowl wasn’t too spicy so he upped the spice for me and it was good. The strawberry green tea was also delicious. Everything was priced well and we got our food quick. The store is well kept and Its a bit away from the busy shopping centers but honestly just the customer service alone makes me want to come back

1/2026 There are some new menu items here now, check out their website or come in and get some. With a variety of Korean, Japanese, and Chinese selections you can find you old favorites as well. 12/2024 visit: Back again for the Chicken Bulgoki. I know they have lots of other cool dishes, but I had to get this again! Maybe next time I can venture further out along the menu. Early 2024 visit: It had been too long since I had some good spicy Chicken Bulgoki, and GOGI YAKI did not disappoint. The meal comes with Miso soup and is served over a bed of white or black & white rice. I added a couple of fried egg rolls and a fountain soda, bringing the total to $22. The portion was large enough to have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! Check out their menu for other exciting options. The "spicy" option was perfect if you like a little kick, not too much. Skip that option if you prefer the milder taste. I'll be back soon to try some of their other dishes.
